Ethical Principles

Ethical Principles

It is a violation of the ethics principles sustained by the Romanian Journal of School Psychology to publish as original data, data that have been previously published. We are committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and will take any measures necessary against publication malpractices. We strongly adhere to the American Psychological Association Ethics Code (Standard 8.14), specifying that "after research results are published, psychologists do not withhold the data on which their conclusions are based from other competent professionals who seek to verify the substantive claims through reanalysis and who intend to use such data only for that purpose, provided that the confidentiality of the participants can be protected and unless legal rights concerning proprietary data preclude their release". The authors acknowledge that they have disclosed all and any actual or potential conflicts of interest with their work or partial benefits associated with it. In the same manner, the Romanian Journal of School Psychology is committed to objective and fair double-blind peer-review of the submitted for publication works and to prevent any actual or potential conflict of interests between the editorial and review personnel and the reviewed material. Any departures from the above-defined rules should be reported directly to the Editor-in-Chief, who is unequivocally committed to providing swift resolutions to any of such a type of problems.

Confidentiality

The manuscripts received from authors for publication are considered confidential documents. They are not shown to third parties, except for the editor, executive editors and the two reviewers (see the blind review procedure).

Publication decisions

The editor and the executive editors of the Romanian Journal of School Psychology are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be sent to the reviewers and eventually published. The decisions may be assisted by reviewers and guided by the policies of the journal and legal requirements conncected to copyright and plagiarism.

Originality and Plagiarism

The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/ or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Please submit the manuscript together with the statement available here (as separate files).

Reporting standards

Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Fundamental errors in published works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
